Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul
And under the supervision of
Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center
The Mosul Studies Center, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit/University of Mosul, and as part of the activities of the Women’s Affairs Committee and the Human Rights Committee at the Mosul Studies Center, held a workshop entitled: (Gender Equality: Our Aspiration for a Better Future).
The workshop was presented by: Assistant Professor Dr. Hanan Abdul-Khaliq Al-Sabaawi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Committee/Mosul Studies Center
The workshop was managed by: Assistant Professor Dr. Arouba Jameel Mahmoud, Member of the Human Rights Committee/Mosul Studies Center
This took place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Art Hall/Mosul Studies Center.
The workshop aimed to highlight gender equality, its importance, and the challenges it faces. The workshop was divided into several sessions, including:
– An introduction and definition of the term “gender equality”
– Highlighting the importance of gender equality
– Identifying areas of gender equality
– Presenting the challenges facing the achievement of gender equality and mechanisms for addressing them. Promoting gender equality should be a shared responsibility among the state, educational institutions, media, families, and civil society in order to establish a society based on dignity and equal opportunities, thus achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 4, 5, and 10.
