Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center, and in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning—Sustainable Development Unit—at the University of Mosul, the first periodic meeting of the Department of Historical and Social Studies was held. The meeting was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Hazim Al-Ghadanfari, Head of the Department, and attended by Professor Dr. Maha Saeed Hamid, Assistant Professor Dr. Orouba Jameel Mahmoud, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hanaa Jassim Mohammed. Held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the meeting addressed key aspects of the curriculum for the new academic year (2026–2027), specifically regarding the publication of research in journals indexed in global databases such as Scopus. Furthermore, the meeting covered upcoming departmental activities, including field visits and volunteer initiatives designed to foster social solidarity and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—most notably Goals 4, 5, 10, and 16.
