Vision:

The College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at the University of Mosul aspires to be a leading national partner in advancing the oil, gas, and mining industries. This will be achieved by qualifying outstanding technical professionals, leveraging artificial intelligence to support innovation and applied research, and contributing to the goals of sustainable development.

Mission:

The College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering is committed to preparing distinguished engineering professionals through high-level training courses and scientific conferences. It aims to graduate skilled individuals capable of addressing challenges in the oil and mining industries and to develop research pathways that drive the nation’s economic development forward.

Objectives:

  • Academic Level: Provide distinguished educational programs that meet local and international quality standards. Develop modern curricula tailored to the essential needs of the job market by integrating artificial intelligence technologies in petroleum and mining fields. Additionally, ensure practical training for students through coordination with oil companies and refineries both domestically and internationally.
  • Encourage Applied Research: Support research that serves Iraq’s oil and mining sectors and promote collaborative research with global universities and major oil companies. This research will contribute to improving production and addressing various environmental challenges.
  • Community Service: Offer technical and scientific consultations to the Ministry of Oil and its affiliated companies. Organize workshops and training programs for oil sector workers to enhance their skills, and contribute to solving industrial problems such as well depletion, oil waste management, and sustainable mineral extraction.
  • Sustainable Development Goals: Support green projects in the oil and mining sectors by adopting renewable energy in production processes. Focus on responsible mining practices that protect the environment and minimize negative impacts.
  • Students and Graduates: Qualify outstanding graduates capable of competing in the local and global job market, enhance their leadership and innovation skills through graduation projects and scientific competitions, and provide job opportunities through partnerships with local and international oil and mining companies.
