College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering

A part of the participation of Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Rashidi, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs of our college, as a member of the committee for the master’s student Eman Nazim’s thesis defense at the College of Science, Department of Earth Sciences. Her thesis titled “Sedimentary Study of the Late Paleocene – Early Eocene Khorramala Formation in Selected Sections of Northeastern Iraq” was defended on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

The defense committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Omar Ahmed Mouloud Al-Badrani, with members including Professor Dr. Rafe Ibrahim Abdullah and Dr. Mohammed Ali Malallah Al-Rashidi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, University of Mosul, and supervision by Professor Dr. Zaid Abdul Wahab.

The thesis presented by the student, Eman Nazim Hazim Mohammed Al-Assaf, focused on studying the sequences of the Khorramala and Sinjar formations in two exposed sections in northern Iraq.
