Assistant Professor Dr. Maen Hassan Abdullah Al-Majid, Dean of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering – University of Mosul, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Bashar Abdul-Jreisy from the College of Science – University of Mosul, has published a scientific research paper in the Jordan Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences (JJEES), a peer-reviewed journal indexed in the Scopus database and ranked in the third quartile (Q3) according to the SCImago Journal Rank.

The paper is entitled:
“Evaluation of Petrophysical Properties and Oil Content of Hartha Formation in Qayyarah Oil Field, Northern Iraq”

The study addresses the evaluation of the petrophysical properties and oil content of the Hartha Formation in the Qayyarah Oil Field, Northern Iraq, through the analysis of data from multiple wells. It employs specialized software to convert analog logs into digital format and to investigate the reservoir characteristics of the formation’s rocks.

This scientific achievement represents a qualitative addition to the research record of the University of Mosul, reaffirming the standing of its scholars and their active role in advancing applied studies in the fields of oil and energy.
