Representing the University of Mosul / College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, Dr. Munif Mahjoob Mohammed (Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs) and Dr. Ahmed Abdul Salam Abed (Head of the Petroleum and Refining Engineering Department) participated in a meeting held at the office of the Assistant Governor of Nineveh for Services on 31/03/2026.

The participation aimed to discuss and explore the possibility of establishing the Nineveh Oil Company, contingent upon reaching a production capacity of (100,000) barrels per day, in a way that supports the oil sector and enhances economic development in the province.

The attendees emphasized the importance of this project in developing the infrastructure of the oil sector and opening new avenues for cooperation between academic institutions and government entities, in a manner that serves the public interest and aligns with sustainable development plans in Nineveh Province.
