Thesis in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences on Volleyball

The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences discussed a doctoral thesis entitled “The Effect of Specific Exercises According to the Classification of the Environment (Closed – Open) on Developing the Most Important Cognitive-Sensorimotor Abilities and Learning and Maintaining the Art of Skill Performance for Some Volleyball Skills” on May 14, 2025. Professor Nibras Younis Mohammed, Dean of the College, and a number of faculty members attended the discussion.
The thesis, presented by student Omar Ibrahim Saleh, addressed “The Effect of Specific Exercises According to the Classification of the Environment (Closed – Open) on Developing the Most Important Cognitive-Sensorimotor Abilities and Learning and Maintaining the Art of Skill Performance for Some Volleyball Skills.”
The study addressed the design of skill exercises in accordance with modern methodologies in the educational process and based on the classification of the environment (Closed – Open). In the “Closed Environment,” the study focused on developing skills in a fixed and stable environment, which enhances mastery and precision in individual performance. In the “Open Environment,” the study focused on performing exercises in changing and unpredictable environments, which simulates the conditions of actual matches that require rapid response. The study aims to reveal the effect of specific exercises according to the environment classification (closed), (open), (closed-open), and (open-closed) on developing the most important sensorimotor cognitive abilities, and the effect of specific exercises according to the environment classification (closed), (open), (closed-open), and (open-closed) on learning the art of skillful performance of some volleyball skills.

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Aqeel Yahya Hashim Al-Araji, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Khaled Abdul Majeed Abdul Hamid, Assistant Professor Dr. Ziad Tariq Hamid, Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Hadi Musa, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muqdad Tariq Hamid, under the supervision and membership of Professor Dr. Nawfal Fadhel Rashid.
