College of Physical Education & Sport Sciences

As part of the approved external examiner guide of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority/Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation – Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and within the framework of scientific cooperation between Iraqi, Arab, and international universities, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Nibras Younis Mohammed Al-Murad, received (on Sunday, August 17, 2025), a visiting professor in the external examiner program, Professor Dr. Abdul Basit Mubarak Al-Sharman from Hashemite University – Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The visit included reviewing the academic program for postgraduate studies and the curriculum components, and assessing the suitability of the curricula for the labor market according to the external evaluator methodology. The visit also included reviewing a number of master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, evaluating their academic level and their adherence to global developments, reviewing the questions, exam booklets, and model answers, and analyzing the quality of the questions and their comprehensiveness of the curriculum.

A qualitative scientific lecture was also presented entitled: “Settling Qualifications in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.”

The visit aimed to enhance the quality of higher education at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences by evaluating academic programs according to international accreditation standards, examining the extent to which curricula align with labor market requirements, and assessing the outcomes of postgraduate research. This would contribute to developing the college’s academic and research performance and establishing a culture of external evaluation as an effective tool for ensuring quality and raising academic standards.
This visit is part of the college’s efforts to enhance academic quality, open up to international experiences, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
