The visit of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, to the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

The President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, visited the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences on January 27, 2025, to review the progress of work and inspect its various facilities, including sports fields and facilities.
During his visit, he conducted a comprehensive tour of the college’s sports fields, where he assessed their readiness and the available equipment to support students’ sports activities. He also listened to a detailed explanation from the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamid Al-Suwaidi, about the academic and training programs offered by the college, as well as the challenges it faces and ways to develop its sports infrastructure.
As part of his visit, the university president attended a meeting with the teaching staff of the college, where mechanisms to enhance scientific publication in global repositories, particularly Scopus, were discussed. He emphasized the importance of supporting scientific research and encouraging faculty members to publish their research in reputable journals, outlining the university’s plans to provide the necessary support for researchers.
The university president highlighted the importance of supporting sports activities as an integral part of the educational process, stressing the university’s commitment to providing the ideal environment to develop students’ sports skills. He expressed his appreciation for the college’s efforts in advancing university sports and enhancing its role in serving the community.
At the conclusion of his visit, the university president praised the role of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamid Al-Suwaidi, for the college’s achievements in raising academic rankings and improving sports fields and facilities. He called for continued efforts to further develop the college in line with modern trends in university sports and academic publishing.
