Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul has announced the publication of Issue No. (19) for February 2026 of its periodical bulletin, Regional View. This issue is titled “The United States and Iran: Prospects of Confrontation and Their Regional and International Implications.” It will be followed in the coming days by Issue No. (20), which will address the military confrontation that occurred, as part of the Center’s ongoing academic efforts to advance scholarly research and keep pace with current political developments.
Issue No. (19) aims to provide a rigorous academic analysis of the nature of international relations and geopolitical tensions, highlighting their impact on regional security and global stability. It seeks to support decision-makers and researchers by offering accurate information and forward-looking insights.
The issue includes a collection of papers examining scenarios of escalation or de-escalation between the two sides and their implications for countries in the region, in addition to economic, security, and developmental dimensions. The topics focus on promoting peace, strengthening strong institutions, and supporting international partnerships, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
In concluding this issue, the Center reaffirms its commitment to its academic role in serving the scholarly community and enhancing awareness of regional and international issues, thereby contributing to sustainable development and the building of a more stable future.
