Department of Physics / College of Science / conducting a study to measure the concentration of radioactive elements in spring water

In the field of community service, a number of faculty members in the College of Science / Department of Physics and they (Prof. Dr. Laith A.Al-Sabha,Dr. Rasheed M.Yousef and Mr. Mohsen M.Hussein) measured concentrations of radon in seven samples of spring water that has been collected from some mineral springs naturalat seven sites of Nineveh province in the northern region of Iraq. Method was used drying method warming to calculate the concentrations of radioactive elements in the models measured were used technique test tubes to measure radon using a detector effect nuclear CR-39, The Hits radioactive radon ranging from (3.82 PCi L) to (9.99 PCi l). All the results were below the levels of pollutants maximum (MLC) for radon in drinking water and registered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
