Discussing a doctoral thesis on a study of geometrical and stratigraphic tectonics of the Aqrah fold in northeastern Iraq
On Sunday, 22/11/2020, the Department of Geosciences discussed the doctoral thesis of the student (Mahmoud Abdul-Haq Khamis Al-Sumaida’i) tagged with “Geometry and tectonic stratification of the Aqrah fold in northeastern Iraq.” The sedimentary basin in the area as well as drawing a detailed
geological structural map of the fold,The results of this study are considered an important scientific reference in various applied issues such as oil exploration, the construction of dams, tunnels, public roads and other engineering specializations. The Dean of theCollege, Assistant Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim Al-Taii, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Mohammed Rashid Abboud Al-Jubouri The Dean of the College of Science / Tikrit University, who incurred the trouble of traveling and chaired the discussion committee
