The Dean of the College chairs a committee to discuss a master’s thesis in the College of Medicine

On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, the honorable Dean of the College of Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Al-Taii, chaired a committee to discuss the master’s thesis for the student (Raba Ahmed Ibrahim) from the College of Medicine at the University of Mosul. Part of it was attended by Prof. Dr. Basil Muhammad Saeed Nazir, Dean of the College of Medicine, and the tagged’’ Serum level of interleukin-6 with single nucleotide polymorphisms -174 G/C S in its gene promoter in patients with rheumatoid arthritis / Iraq.The study aimed to evaluate the levels of interleukin VI in the serums of patients with rheumatoid arthritis with the study of single nucleotide polymorphisms -174 G/C in its gene promoter as a possible risk factor for the disease, in addition to studying any association between interleukin VI ٛ with other criteria such as sex, age and clinical severity of the disease.And concluded that the level of interleukin VI in the serum of patients with rheumatoid arthritis is much higher than the levels among normal people. While the study did not support the role of single nucleotide polymorphisms -174 G/C in the genetic promoter as a possible risk factor for the development of the disease.
