A seminar on the risks of LASIK operations for vision correction
As part of a series of scientific activities represented by the seminars of the College of Science and with the follow-up of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Al-Taii, and the presence of the Head of the Department of Biological Physics, Assistant Professor. Dr. Marwan Zuhair Elias and a number of the department’s faculty and employees, a seminar titled “The Dangers of LASIK Operations for Vision Correction” was given by Dr. Rafid Ahmed Abdullah on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. The Seminar included an introduction to the process of LASIK and the steps of correcting eyesight with the Excimer laser, which is carried out to correct vision on a large scale around the world. Also, more attention has been paid on the sources of errors in the LASIK operation and preparation for them, the categories that do not fit this type of correction, and the possible negatives of the LASIK operation. The seminar was accompanied by an effective and useful participation of a set of questions and inquiries in this field.
