The conclusion of the scientific session “Heavy metals and their impact on environmental pollution”.

In the Department of Biology, the work of the scientific course tagged (heavy metals and their impact on environmental pollution), which was held as part of the continuing education activities in the Carnival week of the College of Science, was concluded. Assistant Prof. Dr. Zahraa Ezzedine Younes and Assistant lecturer Ammar Ghanem Amin. The vocabulary of the first day included a general introduction to environmental pollution and pollutants: Pollution definition . The dangers of environmental pollution to humans. Characteristics and properties of heavy metals. The vital importance of heavy metals. sources of heavy metals. On the second day, the following topics were covered: Ways of entry of pollutants into the body. The mechanisms of action of heavy metal toxins inside the body. The intensification and bioaccumulation of pollutants within the different food chains. Air pollution, its sources. The effect of air pollutants on health. Manifestations and effects of air pollution Global warming / acid rain. Methods of treating and reducing air pollution. At the end of the course certificates were distributed to the participants.
