The President of the University of Mosul inaugurates the central laboratory in the College of Science

In conjunction with the urban renaissance witnessed by the University of Mosul and the College of Science, and in a new qualitative development witnessed by the college. The President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, inaugurated the central laboratory of the College of Science on Monday, the 23rd of January 2023 in the presence of the members of the College Council.The laboratory was established according to laboratory accreditation requirements, such as adding air ducts equipped with a system for filtering gases and chemical vapors to preserve the environment, prevent pollution and equip the laboratory with firefighting supplies.The laboratory includes many advanced chemical analyzers such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in addition to other basic laboratory equipment such as infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-Vis-specterophotometry and devices related to immunological tests and molecular diagnostics such as ELISA, (PCR), (NANODROP) and a fluorescent microscope. The laboratory also contains a unit for microscopic imaging and devices specialized in separating proteins and enzymes.This new step comes in response to the requirements of researchers and postgraduate students in our college and the university in general. Furthermore, the laboratory will be available for other universities, institutions and research centres in Iraq.
