College of Science

As part of its ongoing scientific activities, the Department of Biology at the College of Science, University of Mosul, hosted three postgraduate (Master’s) seminars on the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in the late Dr. Hanaa Saeed Al-Salih Hall, with the attendance of distinguished faculty members and a number of students.

🔹 Student Riyadh Maktouf Jassim Abdullah presented a seminar on his thesis entitled:
“Genetic Diagnosis of Staphylococcus aureus VRSA and MRSA Isolated from Different Clinical Samples”
Supervised by: Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim Al-Taie.

🔹 Student Suhair Taha Dawood discussed in her seminar her thesis entitled:
“Metagenomics and Whole Genome Sequence of Some Oral Pathogens Isolated from Patients’ Saliva”
Supervised by: Prof. Dr. Ameera Mahmoud Al-Rawi.

🔹 Student Faisal Qasim Haji Sido presented a seminar on his thesis entitled:
“Evaluation of the Efficiency of Some Fungi Isolated from Diesel-Contaminated Soil in Removing Some Heavy Metals”
Supervised by: Prof. Dr. Hadeel Ahmed Al-Amiri.

These seminars reflect the College’s commitment to fostering a culture of scientific research and keeping pace with advancements in the field of life sciences, thereby contributing to the academic progress of the University of Mosul.
