Researchers at the College of Science Register Two New Strains of Torque Teno Virus in the Global NCBI Gene Bank

In a remarkable achievement for the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Al-Taie, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anmar Ahmed Al-Taie, and graduate student Noor Sabah Anwar (Master’s in Microbiology) have successfully registered two new strains of Torque Teno Virus in the NCBI Global Gene Bank under the identifiers (NOHIAN3, NOHIAN4) with accession numbers (PX070096, PX070097).

These viruses were isolated from blood donors at the Central Blood Bank in Mosul, marking a significant step forward in microbiological research and the study of local viruses.
