Registration of Two New Mutations of the NOS3 Gene in the Global Gene Bank (NCBI)
In a new scientific achievement added to the record of the College of Science – University of Mosul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Haitham Luqman Shihab Al-Hayali and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thaer Mohammed Hassan Al-Mashhadani, faculty members in the Department of Biology, along with master’s student Zina Fares Mustafa, successfully registered two new gene mutations in the Global Gene Bank (NCBI).
The registered mutations are identified under the codes:

The samples were collected from patients with type II diabetes who were examined by specialized physicians. This achievement represents a qualitative contribution to enriching global genetic databases and reflects the research efforts of the Department of Biology in the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
