College of Science

Under the patronage of His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research, prof. Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, the Ministry organized on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the first scientific conference of the editorial boards of Iraqi scientific journals, as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of national journals and raise them to international standards of excellence and sobriety.

The College of science at the University of Mosul was represented at the conference by a selection of its professors, namely:

• Assistant professor Dr. Ezzeddine-editor-in-chief of the Iraqi National Journal of Geology Sciences.
• Assistant professor Dr. Saddam Isa Mustafa-website manager and member of the editorial board.
• Assistant teacher Messer Samir-publishing and coordination officer.

The college’s participation in this scientific forum comes as a confirmation of its commitment to supporting academic activities that contribute to the development of the scientific publishing path in Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi National Journal of Geology Sciences, issued by the College of science, has achieved a qualitative achievement by being included in scopes (Q4), and it continues to progress at a confident pace towards higher ranks globally, thanks to the great support of the president of Mosul University, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and the continuous follow-up from the Deanship of the college represented by Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, as well as the efforts of the editorial board and its working cadres.

The College seeks to further enhance the quality of scientific research and raise the status of its academic journals to be a distinguished model for Iraqi scientific research at the local and international levels.
