The science of the University of Mosul is always beating the top and the world, where, thanks to God, our university has made a qualitative leap in the Leiden ranking

A new bias shines in the sky of our beloved University and adds to its rich record of excellence and leadership. In the Dutch Leiden ranking of 2025, the university has once again proved that it deserves its place among the world’s leading universities

The results of the ranking showed that the University of Mosul achieved a distinctive achievement represented by being ranked 1456 globally, and 697 Asians, and ranked fifth among Iraqi universities among the five science disciplines according to the web of Science database. The university was also distinguished by its progress in the exact disciplines, as it won the fifth place in Computer Science and mathematics, the third place in medical and Health Sciences, Natural Sciences and Earth Sciences, the eighth place in the disciplines of engineering and physics, and the second place in the humanities and social sciences, to confirm its solid scientific position and its mounting academic leadership, which came as a result of continuous scientific effort, sober research publication, dedication of the university professors, researchers, students and staff, as well as this progress reflects the great development in the quality of education, infrastructure and academic environment that embraces creativity and nurtures excellence.

On this occasion, the College of science, represented by the dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, extends its deepest congratulations and blessings to the president of the University of Mosul, professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, in appreciation of his wise leadership and continuous support for the University’s scientific and research career.

Congratulations to our esteemed university for moving forward in the path of Science and innovation and upholding its legacy and its great scientific status with the same strong will that it has entrusted since it was founded.
