Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow – up and presence of the head of the Department of Geology and Petroleum Sciences, Dr. Omar khalouk Mohammed Sajid, and within the continuing education courses at our college, the Department of Geology and Petroleum Sciences held a scientific course entitled:“management environmental risks and polluted land reclamation” for the period October 26-30, 2025, which was delivered alternately by A.M.Dr. Maha Abdul Hamid and M.Dr. Rana Abdullahi Mahmoud, and M.Dr. Abdullah Mahmoud and M. Sanad. Luma Hazem, in the presence of a number of teachers of the Department.
The course dealt with practical applications and innovative solutions towards sustainable development by studying the role of the geologist in managing environmental risks and reclaiming damaged lands that cause negative effects on public health, economy and biodiversity, and studying environmental pollution and its impact on geoscience and the challenge between it and sustainability towards a green future to achieve an environmental balance between development requirements and pollution pressures.
We wish our students to teach full-time in their academic and research career, contributing to environmental studies to achieve environmental sustainability.
