A scientific course in the Department of Biology Sciences entitled (The role of fungi in preserving the environment).

Under the patronage of the blessing of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the supervision of the head of the Department of Biology sciences, prof. Dr. Amjad Hadi, and within the continuing education programs, a scientific course entitled” The role of fungi in preserving the environment” was held for the period October 14-20, 2025, delivered by A.M.Dr. Raqa Saeed Qasim al-Taie and A. M. Dr. Maha Akram Muhammad Ali Ahmed rajbo and A. M. Dr. Anfal is a supporter of Jalal al-Din, and a number of teachers of the department attended it.

The course dealt with the importance of the role of fungi in the analysis and recycling of waste in nature, with the vital role of fungi in supporting ecosystem health and biodiversity and the importance of coexistence between fungi and other organisms, their uses as a natural processor of organic waste and their use in the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials to understand the pivotal and vital role they play as decomposers in maintaining the health of the planet.
