Master thesis discusses the study of the impact of the size of the crumbs of consumer rubber and SBS On the specifications of asphalt axle

Today, Sunday, November 2, 2025, the master’s thesis submitted by student Alaa Majid Ali Hassan al-Khafaji was discussed in the Chemistry Department of the College of Sciences, tagged “studying the effect of the size of spent rubber crumbs and SBS On the specifications of asphalt axle”.
Part of the discussion was attended by the dean of the College of Science Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel al-Taie, Mr. administrative assistant Prof. Dr. Omar Adel Sharif, the Honorable Mr. head of the Department of Chemistry Prof. Dr. Salem Jassim, in addition to a number of department teachers and graduate students.
The discussion committee consisted of Gentlemen:
Prpf.. Dr. Asaad Faisal Khattab-President،
And assistant Prof. Dr. Lubna Abdulaziz Saleh-member،
And M. Dr. Ehab Salem Ahmed-member،
And assistant Prof. Dr. Iman Ismail Ahmed-member and supervisor.
The thesis aims to carry out pre-treatment of damaged tire crumbs before using them in the modification of asphalt by its type (bitumen, oxidized nettling), and the reflection of this procedure on increasing the homogeneity of asphalt models obtained from this study. Polyphosphoric acid was also used because of its effective role in increasing storage stability and preventing phase separation, and therefore we were able to reduce the environmental burden caused by throwing damaged tires by using it in high proportions in the production of asphalt models with 100% storage stability.
Our heartfelt congratulations to the outstanding student, and our wishes to our students good luck and reach the highest ranks of Science and giving.
