College of Science

Under the patronage of the president of Mosul University, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mohammed Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the head of the women’s Affairs Committee at our college, M. M. Aline Mowaffak Khalil, with a number of fourth-stage students in the Department of medical physics, at the awareness workshop held by the women’s Affairs Unit at the university presidency.

This participation comes within the efforts of Mosul University in promoting health awareness and empowering women to prevent and detect cancer diseases early, where the workshop was held on Wednesday, October under the title “Project to accelerate the elimination of women’s cancers in Iraq” in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Health / Cancer Council and the Middle East Network for Community Health Organization.

The workshop was attended by the University’s assistant president for administrative affairs, assistant prof. Dr. Rafel Hassan Hamed, and a number of female members of the University Council, in addition to the director of the media and Government Communication Department at the university presidency.

The head of cancer prevention and early detection at Ninawa health department, Dr. Najla Saadi Chet, presented a scientific lecture on the most prominent national programs aimed at accelerating the elimination of breast cancer, stressing the importance of the role of educational institutions and health and community organizations in supporting this goal through awareness, early screening, and enabling women to obtain the necessary health care.
