A workshop entitled (Near and long-term health harms of using smartphones).

Under the patronage of the blessing of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the supervision of the head of the Department of Biology sciences, prof. Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi, and within the continuing education programs, a workshop entitled” the near and long-term health harms of using smartphones” was held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, delivered by Prof. Dr. Muntaha Mahmoud Al-Qattan and Assistant Prof. Dr. Najaah Subhi Nayef and Assistant Prof. Dr. Marwa Hashim Daoud and T. Dr. The magic of Luqman Al-Salim, attended by a number of teachers of the Department.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the diseases and health problems that have worsened recently among users of smartphones and tablets and how to remedy or reduce them, especially among those who use them excessively. She also addressed a presentation on the facilities of daily life provided by smartphones, and on the other hand, their health harms, foremost of which is their impact on the spine, especially the neck and shoulder blade, vision problems, homelessness, memory impairment, headaches, sleep anxiety and the increase in the appearance of phobia of losing a phonenomobile phobia (Nomophobia), and the weakness and disintegration of family relationships accompanying phone addiction and the impact of abuse on individual productivity and thus on community health.

Our wishes are to teach full-time in a way that serves the community and helps in using modern technology in the right way.
