Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of Mosul University, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up and presence of the head of the Department of Biology sciences, prof. Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi, and within the continuing education programs, a scientific course entitled” Gene 16S rRNA: a biological tool for the identification and classification of bacteria” for the period November 12-20, 2025, delivered by prof. Dr. Esra Ghanem Hazem and L .Dr. Hoda Walid Hadi, The meeting was attended by Mr. Al-maqer, a number of teachers and students of the department, as well as a group of participants from within the University of Mosul.

The course dealt with an introduction to bioinformatics and its multiple applications in the fields of diagnostics and scientific research, while clarifying the biological importance of the 16S rRNA gene and its role in determining the evolutionary and taxonomic relationships between bacterial species. She discussed the evolutionary stages of PCR technology and the development of its devices and solutions. And also to the use of specialized programs in the analysis of genetic sequences and their diagnosis via the NCBI database.

At the end of the events, certificates of participation were distributed to the participants and attendees.
