Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mohammed Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up of the head of the Department of Medical Physics, Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Mohammed Fakhri, and within the continuing education programs, the Department of medical physics organized a continuing education workshop entitled medical and therapeutic diagnostics), on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the seminar hall in the Department, delivered by each of L. Shaima Talal Abdullah and Assistant L. Aya Azad Rashid, attended by a number of teachers and students of the Department.

The workshop dealt with providing a comprehensive introduction to the most important medical diagnostic and radiation therapy devices, X-ray devices (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), PET, ultrasound, and the EEG device with a brief explanation of the mechanism of action of each device and its role in detecting diseases and assessing the condition of patients. As well as the devices used in radiotherapy such as Linear Accelerator, Proton and neutron devices, internal radiotherapy shows how to accurately direct the treatment to improve clinical results and minimize the impact on healthy tissues. Therefore, this workshop aims to provide participants with a clear understanding of the importance of these devices in diagnosis and treatment, while identifying the practical applications of each device in modern hospitals and medical centers.
