Discussing a master’s thesis in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science / University of Mosul

On Monday, November 24, 2025, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science / University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis tagged “cholecystokinin hormone as a new marker for the early diagnosis of infertility for both sexes” by student Sura Hazem Suleiman al-Hayali, part of which was attended by the dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim and administrative assistant Prof. Dr. Omar Adel Sharif and a number of college teachers.
The aim of the letter was to demonstrate the possibility of adopting the hormone cholecystokinin as a new biomarker for the early detection of infertility in males and females, through analyzing its levels and its relationship to a set of hormonal and biochemical variables in infertile patients. The results showed a more pronounced decrease in the concentration of the hormone in females compared to males, as well as a strong inverse correlation between its levels and both age and body mass index.
The study also highlighted the importance of the results in enhancing the level of health care for people with infertility by improving early diagnosis methods and providing scientific data that can contribute to understanding the gender disparity in the development of the disease and response to treatment, in support of the design of more accurate and equitable treatment strategies. The study also contributed to enriching the academic environment with applied research linking biochemistry and public health, and is a scientific reference for chemistry, medicine, pharmacy students and researchers in the field of hormonal disorders.
The discussion committee consisted of:
Prof. Dr. Louay Abdul Ali al Hilali-chairman
Prof. Dr. Lama Abdel Moneim Bakr-member
Assistant prof. Dr. Iman Adel Hadi-member
Under the supervision and membership of Prof. Dr. Zeina Abdel Moneim Al-Jawadi.
We wish our dear students continued scientific excellence and academic success.
