Two female teachers from the Department of Biology sciences participate in the discussion of a doctoral thesis at the College of education for pure sciences

Within the framework of supporting scientific cooperation between the faculties of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Jenan Abdul Khaliq Saeed, a member, and Prof. Dr. Amira Mahmoud Mohammed Al-Rawi, supervisor and member, from the Department of Biology sciences at the College of science, participated in the discussion of the tagged doctoral thesis:
“The effectiveness of some natural compounds and green silver nitrate nanoparticles of some Iraqi plants as antioxidants and bacteria isolated from the mouth”
Which was discussed at the College of education for pure sciences on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, by student Saba Moayed Suleiman.
A simple summary of the thesis:
The study included isolating and diagnosing periodontitis-causing bacteria from 100 clinical samples, and determining the effectiveness of some natural compounds and nanoparticles of silver nitrate of plant origin in resisting those bacteria. Seven isolates were genetically recorded in the gene bank, and the study was the first locally in diagnosing two types associated with this disease, namely:
cerbrosus and P. stomatis.
Part of the discussion was attended by a number of teachers and students of the Department of Biology sciences, and the session witnessed rich scientific discussions that enriched the course of research and enriched it with observations and recommendations.
At the end of the session, the dean of the College of education for Pure Sciences presented letters of thanks and appreciation to the members of the committee, including Prof. Dr. Jenan Abdul Khalek and Prof. Dr. Amira Mahmoud Mohammed, in appreciation of their scientific efforts and their contribution to the success of the discussion.
