The Department of Biology sciences receives female students of Noor Al-duha Al-Ahlia Secondary School on an introductory scientific visit
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the Department of Biology sciences at the College of science at the University of Mosul received female students of Noor Al-duha secondary school for girls as part of a scientific visit aimed at identifying the academic environment and scientific laboratories in the department and enhancing the students ‘ knowledge about life sciences specialties.
The visit began with a tour of the microbiology laboratory, where the laboratory staff provided a brief explanation about the nature of the scientific material presented, with an introduction to the importance of microbiology and its vital role in medical and research fields. The basics of handling samples and microorganisms and the safety procedures adopted to ensure a safe Scientific Working Environment were also clarified.
The visit also included a tour of the Department’s library, where the students were briefed on the types of books and scientific sources available, and listened to an explanation about the most prominent titles that serve life sciences students at various academic levels. They also got acquainted with the reading room and the services available to support research and study.
