Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and as part of the efforts of the College of Science in enhancing digital security awareness among the affiliates and students, the University psychological counseling division at our college, in cooperation with the Department of University psychological counseling at the presidency of the University of Mosul and the Directorate of financial intelligence, held a workshop raising awareness about the most prominent forms of electronic blackmail and its various methods targeting individuals and institutions via the internet.

During the workshop, the lecturers discussed the importance of preserving personal information, especially bank card data, in light of the increasing expansion in the use of electronic services and financial transactions, and the physical and psychological risks that may result from the leakage of these data threatening victims.they also highlighted the ways that blackmailers may resort to exploiting financial data in order to achieve illicit gains, in addition to clarifying the official reporting mechanisms available and easy access to ensure the protection of society and reduce the spread of digital crimes.

This event is part of a series of awareness-raising activities implemented by the University, which aims to strengthen the culture of cyber security and create a safe digital environment for its students and affiliates.
