The participation of the head of the Department of Biology Sciences in the discussion of a doctoral thesis at the University of Mosul
Prof. Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi Mohammed, head of the Biology sciences department at the College of Science, University of Mosul, participated as a member of the doctoral dissertation discussion Committee of the student Islam Yasser Abdullah Taha from the Department of Biology sciences, tagged ” nanoparticles and their impact on the production of secondary metabolic compounds in tissue cultures and transgenic capillary roots of the Kalgan Silybum marianum L.””At the College of education for pure sciences at the University of Mosul, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
During the discussion session, a distinguished scientific effort was reviewed that addressed the impact of zinc oxide nanoparticles in the development of tissue cultures and genetically transforming the plant, as well as the diagnosis of active compounds in callus and capillary roots using GC-MS and HPLC techniques, and studying their antioxidant effectiveness.
Dr. Amjad contributed with his sober scientific observations to enrich the discussion and evaluation of the work, within a committee that included a group of specialized professors.
On behalf of the dean of the College, the head of the Department of Life Sciences presented during the discussion session a book of thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi Mohammed, in appreciation of his scientific efforts and his active participation in the success of the work of the discussion Committee.
