On Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, the Department of Biology sciences at the College of science at the University of Mosul held a scientific seminar for doctoral student Ikhlas Ramadan Matar, in the Hall of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Haj Qasem and in the presence of a number of department teachers and graduate students.

During the seminar, the student presented her thesis entitled ” phenotypic and molecular investigation of the types of germs producing Colibactin toxin and studying its physiological properties”, which is concerned with detecting germs capable of producing this toxin and studying its properties at the phenotypic and molecular levels.

During the session, the scientific aspects and preliminary results of the study were discussed, and a number of observations and recommendations were made that would enhance the quality of research and its development.

The seminar was held under the supervision of: Prof. Dr. Amira Mahmoud Al-Rawi , Assistant Prof. Dr. Alaa Hussein Taha .

At the end of the session, the attendees praised the efforts made, wishing the student success in completing the requirements for obtaining a doctoral degree.
