College of Science

Under the patronage of the president of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and under the supervision of the dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim al – Taie, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science-University of Mosul, as part of continuing education activities, organized a scientific workshop entitled “chromium element and its relationship to obesity”, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, on the premises of the conference hall in the Department of chemistry, in the presence of a number of college teachers and students.

The lectures of the workshop were delivered by :

• Assistant professor Dr. Rana Hassan Ahmed .
• Assistant professor Dr. Fatima Abdul Hamid Mohamed Amin .
• Professor Dr. Sakina Hussain Rashid .
• Lecture Zeina Talal Shaker .

The workshop dealt with the vital role of chromium and its relationship to metabolic processes, and its potential impact on obesity, while opening the door for discussion and scientific dialogue with the attendees, which contributed to enhancing scientific and research awareness among participants.

The workshop was attended by a group of teachers and students of the department, in the framework of keenness to support scientific activities aimed at developing knowledge and upgrading the academic level.

In conclusion, the College of science extends its best wishes to its professors for further scientific and academic progress and success.
