Scientific visit of students of the Department of Medical Physics to Al Hayat International Hospital

In accordance with the directives of the president of the University of Mosul, professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Ibrahim, and under the supervision and guidance of the dean of the College of science, professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up of the head of the Department of Medical Physics, Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Mohamed Fakhri, and the interest of the College of Science in science the Department of Medical Physics organized a scientific visit for the students of the second stage of the morning study to Al-Hayat International Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, accompanied by a number of During the course, the students got acquainted with a number of medical departments and advanced diagnostic techniques used in the hospital, in order to enhance our practical knowledge and get acquainted with the latest medical devices.
The most important of them is the magnetic resonance device and its important role in diagnosing diseases by producing accurate images of internal organs and tissues. And X-ray (X-ray) and its importance in the diagnosis of fractures and various pathological conditions.
The visit also included the Department of nuclear medicine, where the mechanism of action of advanced nuclear examinations such as PET Scan, which is used in the diagnosis of tumors, assessment of organ functions and monitoring the development of diseases, was explained.
They also visited the genetics laboratory and learned about genetic tests and their importance in diagnosing genetic diseases, in addition to visiting the hematology laboratory, which specializes in analyzing blood components and diagnosing various disorders.
The visit also included acquaintance with the comprehensive examinations provided by the hospital, which include an integrated set of laboratory tests and radiological examinations to assess the general health status of the patient.
