Workshop on Human Rights (concept and generations) at the College of science

Under the patronage of the president of the University of Mosul, professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and under the supervision of the dean of the College of science, professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up of the head of the physics department, Dr. Samir Mahmoud Ahmed, and within the activities of the College of Science in conjunction with the international human rights Day, which was declared on December 10, 1948, the human rights unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the human rights division at the presidency of the University of Mosul, organized a scientific workshop entitled ” Human Rights : concept and generations ” .

The workshop was held on Monday, December 15, 2025 in the Hall of discussions in the Department of physics Sciences, and was presented by Assistant Teacher Salah afdou.

The workshop dealt with the concept of human rights and its different generations, with the importance of spreading awareness of rights and duties under the state of citizenship, and the need to consolidate the principles of human rights among students, especially the values of peace, peaceful coexistence, acceptance of opinion and other opinion.

The workshop stressed that awareness-raising activities on rights and freedoms are an important opportunity for direct communication with students and attendees, in order to transfer knowledge and guide them towards adopting healthy and responsible behaviors that ensure mutual respect and enjoyment of rights in accordance with legal and humanitarian frameworks.
