Workshop entitled ” Drugs and their impact on public rights and freedoms “

As part of the activities of the College of Science, and in conjunction with the international human rights Day, which was declared on December 10, 1948, the human rights unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the human rights division at the presidency of Mosul University, organized a workshop entitled ” Drugs and their impact on public rights and freedoms ” on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in the discussion Hall of the Department of medical physics, delivered by Assistant Teacher Salah Afdu.
The workshop dealt with the concept of drugs and their types (Digital, natural, and manufactured), highlighting their harmful and dangerous effects on the individual, family, and society, and the importance of promoting awareness of their risks, in addition to emphasizing the need to spread a culture of human rights, especially with regard to public rights and freedoms.
The workshop stressed that the awareness activities related to the scourge of drugs represent an important opportunity to communicate directly with students and attendees, convey the correct information, and guide them towards adopting healthy and responsible behaviors that ensure respect for and enjoyment of rights.
