The department of New and Renewable Energies in our college organized a course on ‘Heavy Elements’, which lasted for three days from 12-14th March. The course had an introduction on the heavy elements, their types, analytical methods for detecting them, indicating their damage to humans and the environment, and the correct ways to dispose of these elements. Also, the sessions discussed the challenges facing heavy element-bearing materials such as solar cells in terms of manufacturing and recycling.
