Vision:
To achieve a prominent position among the various chemistry departments in Iraq, making it one of the leading and advanced departments in education and scientific research. The department aims to prepare chemistry graduates who are competitive in the job market and can keep up with the remarkable advancements in scientific and technical research, while also fostering a culture of creativity and innovation in the field of chemistry.
Mission:
The mission of the Department of Chemistry is to prepare students to become proficient both scientifically and practically in all areas of chemistry. It seeks to provide rigorous, advanced scientific research and elevate the department by delivering the best performance in completing various tasks. The department aims to provide excellent scientific and practical services to students at all levels, equipping them with modern scientific techniques, and preparing them to compete in the workforce. Additionally, the department strives to conduct research and studies that build a chemical research base to serve and uplift society, addressing its challenges.
Goals:
- Providing Society with Qualified Graduates
To supply society with graduates holding Bachelor’s degrees in various fields of chemistry, trained as chemistry assistants capable of addressing research needs and working in health laboratories, construction labs, quality control, food and pharmaceutical industries, and chemical industries, including oil and petrochemicals. - Training Educators for Schools and Universities
To prepare qualified educators capable of teaching chemistry in schools and universities across Iraq. - Providing High-Quality Educational Services
To offer high-quality educational services in various fields of chemistry that meet the needs of society and the job market, through a commitment to an excellent academic standard in both undergraduate and graduate studies. The department aims to produce highly-qualified individuals with Master’s and Ph.D. degrees who are capable of working as researchers in various fields, keeping pace with the scientific progress in chemistry. - Contributing to National Development
To contribute to solving scientific problems that support the country’s development plans.
