In the College of Science / Department of New and Renewable Energies, a workshop was held under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Hayam Adel Al-Taii, the respected workshop entitled “Energy Production Using Biofuels” delivered by (Eng. Dr. Saad Fadel) one of the teachers of the department, and the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Asim Ahmed Issa.The workshop dealt with the definition of biofuels as a source of renewable energy that is produced by converting biological materials, whether they are (animal or vegetable) into liquid fuels such as ethyl alcohol (ethanol) or biodiesel, and the workshop also dealt with the negatives and advantages of using biofuels from several aspects.She also explained that the use of biofuels is beneficial because it is clean and environmentally friendly by reducing air pollutants and by recycling gases and using them again in various means of transport.The workshop was attended by professors with different specializations from the University of Mosul and other universities in Iraq, in addition to the presence of lecturers and students of the Energy Department.ورشة عمل عن انتاج الطاقة باستخدام الوقود الحيوياقيمت في كلية العلوم / قسم الطاقات الجديدة والمتجددة ورشة عمل برعاية السيد رئيس جامعة الموصل الاستاذ الدكتور قصي كمال الدين الأحمدي المحترم وبأشراف السيدة عميد كلية العلوم الاستاذ المساعد الدكتورة هيام عادل الطائي المحترمة ورشة عمل بعنوان ” إنتاج الطاقة بأستخدام الوقود الحيوي” ألقاها م. د. سعد فاضل احد تدريسي قسم الطاقات وبمتابعة السيد رئيس قسم الطاقات الجديدة والمتجددة أ.م.د.عاصم أحمد عيسى المحترموقد حضر الورشة أساتذة بتخصصات مختلفة من جامعة الموصل ومن جامعات العراق الأخرى فضلا عن حضور تدريسي وطلبة قسم الطاقات.تناولت الورشة.. تعريف للوقود الحيوي باعتباره مصدر من مصادر الطاقة المتجددة والذي يتم إنتاجه عن طريق تحويل ألمواد الحيوية سواء أكانت (حيوانة او نباتية) إلى وقود سائل مثل الكحول الاثيلي (الايثانول) او الديزل الحيوي.. كما تناولت الورشة السلبيات والايجابيات لاستخدام الوقود الحيوي ومن جوانب عدة..كما اوضحت إن استخدام الوقود الحيوي يعتبر مفيد لانه نظيف وصديق للبيئة من خلال التقليل من الملوثات الجوية عن طريق إعادة تدوير الغازات واستخدامها من جديد في وسائل النقل المختلفة.
