Blood Donation Campaigns

The Guidance Committee, in collaboration with the Women’s Empowerment Committee at the College, organized several blood donation campaigns for patients with thalassemia and other blood disorders. A group of faculty members and students from our College participated in the campaign, which aimed to support the blood bank’s supply, promote a spirit of giving and social responsibility, and foster a culture of charity work.

Visits to Dormitories and Food Distribution Campaigns

As part of the College’s efforts to support our students residing in dormitories, the Guidance Unit organized several field visits and hosted iftar banquets for dormitory students. Most recently, the Unit provided students with meal cards throughout the academic year from the University of Mosul’s student center. These initiatives aim to ease their burdens and overcome the challenges they face.

Thalassemia centres

As part of the ongoing charitable projects and initiatives carried out by the faculty and students of the College, the Guidance Unit organized several visits to Ibn Al-Atheer Hospital and the Thalassemia Center. These visits included distributing small gifts and financial assistance to underprivileged families of patients to alleviate their hardships and bring joy and happiness to their faces.

Violence against women

The Women’s Affairs Committee organized an awareness campaign as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, with the participation of several students from the College. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the phenomenon of societal violence against women and emphasized the need for a future free from all forms of violence against women. This campaign is part of a series of cultural activities organized by the College of Science at the University of Mosul, which are directly linked to the health and safety of society. It also reflects the efforts of the College administration to engage in community service by promoting awareness of the importance of a violence-free future for women.

A person with special needs is someone who experiences a temporary or permanent, complete or partial deficiency, or weakness in their physical, sensory, mental, communicative, educational, or psychological abilities to the extent that it limits their ability to perform ordinary requirements.

The Scourge of Drugs

The College of Science organized several workshops and lectures that highlighted the major risks of drug use on human health and warned about the dangers of drug addiction. These efforts were accompanied by volunteer campaigns, including the distribution and display of posters aimed at combating this scourge.
