Forensic Science Department – Vision, Mission, and Goals
Vision:
To prepare a highly skilled workforce in the fields of crime investigation, forensic investigations, fingerprinting, evidence collection, and handling.
Mission:
To preserve evidence at crime scenes, collect samples from them, document evidence, and learn how to handle modern equipment and techniques to support courts and public prosecutors with factual information.
Goals:
To graduate specialized professionals in criminal investigation and forensic science by teaching them how to take fingerprints, use forensic photography equipment, methods for examining counterfeit currency and official documents, investigating poisons and narcotics, writing related reports, and gaining knowledge about explosives and fire extinguishing techniques. Students will also learn basic first aid principles and how to apply them. The department will equip students with scientific techniques for using the equipment that can be applied in their theoretical and practical studies. It will also supply governmental institutions (defense, interior, health) with qualified personnel to work in this field.
