Qualification and Employment Division

The Qualification and Employment Division at the University of Mosul is a vital unit that seeks to qualify graduates and provide them with the skills necessary to compete in the labor market. This is achieved through offering specialized training programs that align with the needs of the labor market and working to prepare students for future jobs. The division also establishes strategic partnerships with various relevant entities, which opens wide horizons for job opportunities and enhances employment stability and economic development. In addition to that, it provides support and consultation to students at different stages of their career paths, which strengthens their ability to adapt to professional challenges. Through these efforts, it contributes to building a qualified workforce capable of driving the wheel of development and innovation.

Furthermore, it enhances opportunities for decent work in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, and contributes to improving living standards and strengthening social stability by providing quality jobs, ensuring safe and fair work environments, protecting workers’ rights, and promoting equal opportunities. Through this approach, Qualification and Employment plays an effective role in achieving sustainable development and building a more stable and prosperous society.

2 – Division Tasks

  • Organizing workshops, training courses, and field visits to develop specialized skills, electronic management skills, the decision-making process, and to enhance the leadership abilities of students and graduates.
  • Providing professional consultations to students and linking them with partners in the public and private sectors.
  • Creating a database for graduates (Graduate Tracking System) and employers.
  • Organizing job fairs periodically and professional networking events.
  • Following up on graduates and analyzing their employment outcomes in cooperation with employers in both governmental and non-governmental sectors.
  • Implementing the National Strategy for Education and Higher Education (2021–2031) according to the axes prepared by the Ministry for Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Divisions in university centers and in cooperation with the units in the colleges.
  • Activating and following up partnerships and agreements with state departments and non-governmental organizations registered in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / Non-Governmental Organizations Directorate to provide employment opportunities and qualification courses for students and graduates.

To make the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division at the University of Mosul a leader locally, regionally, and internationally in preparing graduates who are academically and skillfully qualified for the requirements of the labor market, and who effectively contribute to building a knowledge-based society and sustainable economic development.

Mission:

The division seeks to qualify university students and graduates by providing distinguished training programs, establishing effective partnerships with the labor market, providing employment opportunities, and following up on graduates to ensure the development of their abilities and refinement of their skills in a way that achieves excellence and competitiveness in the labor market.

Objectives:

The Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division, through its units and the units affiliated with it in the university colleges, contributes effectively to raising the university’s global standing and helps attract talented students and researchers from various parts of the world, while enhancing cultural and scientific exchange with the international community in service of the prestigious University of Mosul and the beloved nation. The division aims to:

A – Prepare students for the labor market through training programs and specialized workshops in functional and life skills.
B – Build sustainable cooperative relations with governmental institutions, private institutions, and civil society organizations.
C – Provide an updated database for graduates and link them to suitable job opportunities.
D – Follow up on the career paths of university graduates and evaluate the extent to which their qualifications align with labor market needs.
E – Organize job fairs and direct meetings between students and employers to enhance employment opportunities.
F – Develop the administrative and technical staff capabilities of the division to ensure the quality of services provided.
G – Contribute to preparing studies and reports related to the labor market and its requirements in a way that supports the university’s future plans.
