An Art Workshop at the College of Tourism Sciences

The Student Activities Division / Art Activities Unit at the College of Tourism Sciences organized an art workshop on Sunday, April 5, 2026, entitled “The Photographic Scene and the Plastic Artwork… Between Convergence and Difference,” with the attendance of a number of the college’s staff and students.
The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit. It was delivered by Mr. Imad Hazem Mohammed Al-Sharifi, Head of the Cultural Activities Division in the Department of Student Activities. He presented a lecture addressing the differences and intersections between photographic scenes and plastic artworks in terms of composition, lighting, and artistic meanings, in addition to highlighting the role of visual arts in expressing social and environmental issues.
The workshop aimed to develop students’ artistic taste, enhance their ability to understand and analyze various visual arts, and encourage them to use art as a means of expression.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, honored Mr. Imad Al-Sharifi in appreciation of his efforts in making the workshop successful.
This workshop aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), by supporting quality learning and developing creative skills, and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), by promoting culture and arts as fundamental pillars in building a conscious and sustainable society.
