The College of Tourism Sciences Holds a Training Course on Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the College organized a training course entitled “Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption” on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The course was held in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit.
On its first day, the course included a lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ikram Falih Ahmed, entitled “The Legal Value of the Code of Conduct for Public Service.” In her lecture, she reviewed the legal frameworks regulating the behavior of public employees, emphasizing the importance of adhering to professional and ethical standards in reducing corruption. She also highlighted the role of codes of conduct in promoting transparency and accountability within institutions.
The course was attended by the Dean of the College, the Assistant Dean, and a number of staff members, reflecting a clear commitment to raising institutional awareness of the risks of corruption and ways to combat it, as well as promoting a work environment based on integrity and adherence to laws.
This course comes as part of the College’s efforts to develop the capacities of its administrative and academic staff and to support a culture of good governance, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
