Department of Internal and Preventive Veterinary Medicine

Vision:

In accord with the vision of the College of Veterinary Medicine, our vision is to provide students a qualitative knowledge in the internal and preventive medicine, clinical pathology and common diseases. Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of veterinary diseases of the internal body systems.

Mission:

Providing students with basic and practical information in internal and preventive medicine, diagnoses and common diseases, and preparing postgraduate students in these disciplines.

Goals:

1- The important goal of our department is to train the students on the basis of examination, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases in farm and pet animals.

2- Teaching students of the fourth and fifth years all topics related to animal diseases.

3- Our department provides advisory, diagnostic and therapeutic services to the owners about animal health, feeding and breeding, through our Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

4- Updating our lectures and teaching materials to be kept in touch with global scientific research.

5- Working with our staff to make sure that our students are receiving the high quality of science.

6. Establishment of continuing education courses for veterinarians to introduce them to the modern laboratory techniques and clinical diagnosis.
