The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul helds its scientific conference tagged “The impact of the modern business environment on the accounting and auditing professions”.
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and with the support of the Central Bank of Iraq and in the presence of Dr. Hussein Lazem Al-Zaidi, Director General of the Central Bank of Iraq / Mosul Branch, the College of Administration and Economics, Department of Accounting, represented by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, held the first scientific conference tagged “The impact of the modern business environment on the accounting and auditing professions”
On Wednesday, 28/2/2024, at half past nine in the morning, its work will continue for two consecutive days.
The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the respected President of the University, the Assistant President of the University of Mosul for Administrative Affairs, the Dean of the College, the Director of the Central Bank, members of the University Council, personalities from the city and a number of faculty and students of the college.
The opening of the conference began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, read by Dr. Abdul Malik Suleiman, followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then playing the national anthem, then the speech of the Central Bank of Iraq delivered by Dr. Hussein Lazem Al-Zaidi, then shields and certificates were distributed to the participants and members of the committees, and then the work of the first opening session of the conference began, headed by Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, Chairman of the session, and Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jameel, Rapporteur of the session… During which Prof. Dr. Adel Sobhi Abdul Qadir Al-Basha from the Iraqi University delivered his research tagged “The impact of evaluating audit risks on the preparation of the responsive audit plan” after which the second research was delivered by Prof. Dr. Saddam Muhammad Mahmoud from the University of Tikrit tagged “Activating the modes of choice illusion to influence the investment decision: an exploratory study in light of the practice of companies for creative accounting”.
The lectures of the first session continued on topics on “The impact of using the accounting information system based on artificial intelligence in the detection of profit management”.

The themes of the conference in the work of the second and closing session of the first day touched on research presented by external researchers on “the importance of the role of green accounting in promoting social responsibility and transformation towards green business.
