College of Arts hosts the orphans of Dar Al-Baraem and Dar Al-Zuhur for orphan care

Based on the directives of the University of Mosul, represented by its President Prof. Dr. Qusay al-Ahmadi, regarding openness to society, and with the presence of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Afin, and as a new initiative at the University of Mosul, the Department of History hosted the orphans of Dar Al-Baraem for boys and Dar Al-Zuhur for girls in Mosul on Thursday, June 6, 2024 as a part of Social and Human activities of the College of Arts that would spread the spirit of charity, compassion, mercy, and help.
During the hosting, which was directly supervised by the Head of the History Department, Prof. Dr. Nayef Muhammad Shibeeb, and a number of staff members in the department, a field visit was conducted within the college and its libraries, and gifts were distributed to the orphans. Also, a field visit to the central library at the University of Mosul and the student center was conducted, and a luncheon was provided to them.
The Dean of the College expressed his pleasure with this initiative, stating that such humanitarian initiatives would alleviate the tragedy from which the orphans suffer, and set a path that lights the lives of children and an effort to bring the joy they were deprived of due to the loss of their parents and relatives, stressing that caring for the orphan is an evidence of respect for a human’s right to live and is another indication that he lives in a society that cares for him and provides him with complete service and care. He called for supporting this group of people and encouraging it to communicate with educational institutions as well as providing them with material and moral support.
