Significant Academic Achievements for the College of Arts: Editorial Appointment and Q1 Scopus Publication
The College of Arts at the University of Mosul has recently secured two significant scientific accomplishments, affirming the high standard of its research and the caliber of its scholars on the global academic stage: Assistant Professor Dr. Huda Al-Halawchy, a faculty member in the Department of English Language, was appointed as a Scientific Expert to the Editorial Board Platform of the International Journal of Educational Research Open, a highly regarded, Q1 Scopus-indexed journal published by Elsevier with a CiteScore of 5.5. Concurrently, a research article—an extraction from the Doctoral Dissertation of Lecturer Dr. Shatha Hazim Saadullah (supervised by Dr. Al-Halawchy)—was published in the Q1 Scopus journal Studies in English Language Education. Titled “Smoke Signals: Decoding the Multimodal Strategies of Cigarette Health Warnings in Australia,” the research analyzes multimodal communication strategies in health warnings, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). These achievements collectively underscore the qualitative growth of academic output at the College of Arts and enhance the international research standing of the University of Mosul.
